When my family and I first moved into our house, we immediately had two different contracting companies come and give us quotes to redo our backyard.
This wasn’t cheap, mind you. The bids were both $5,000+.
One of the bids hovered around $5,000. The other came in at just a hair under $7,000.
Can you guess who got the job?
The more expensive person who followed up with me!
It had nothing to do with the quality, or the price, or the timeline.
It had everything to do with the fact that by following up with me consistently , this company won my business because they showed how much they cared about me getting the results I wanted (which, in this case, was redoing our backyard).
So here’s a quick question to think about…
Who Visit Your Business?
Of course you don’t. If you did, you’d be a trillionaire.
But why is it that you can’t convert 100% of your prospects?
There are actually three reasons.
Reason #1:
Timing
Timing is the single most critical factor to buying decisions. Most people will buy from you if you continue to keep in touch with them. It simply needs to be the right timing. I’ve done campaigns where we got the timing right, and tripled revenue. Obviously this doesn’t happen in every business, but you can see the potential!
Reason #2:
Information
Your prospects want specific information. They want to know why they should buy from you, instead of your competitors.
They want you to overcome their objections. They want you to show them the deep benefits of your product or service they haven’t thought about.
Telling them all at once is impossible, due to people retaining only about 10% of the information they hear at one given time. That’s why consistent communication is mandatory for long-term success.
Reason #3:
Trust
People simply don’t trust companies anymore. Plain and simple.
You have to prove to people that YOU are the best solution for their problem. And that you’re trustworthy. Again, this cannot happen with one marketing message.
That’s like marrying a girl the same night you meet her. Doesn’t happen. In fact people buying from you the first time they ever hear about you is about as rare as meeting a girl and marrying her the same night in Vegas!
Consistently staying in touch with your prospects and buyers help create better timing, add more value to their lives, and add layers of trust – all of which grow your business.
Which brings me to my next point…
These Strategies Into Your Business?
First let me start out by saying – I’m not a mind reader.
The results you’re about to see are based on results I’ve gotten in my own businesses, and helping private clients grow theirs.
I do not know what results you would get in your business.
I have several tens of millions of dollars worth of split-testing and marketing research under my belt. My job, literally, is making clients more money. And I like to think I do it quite well.
Here are the types of results I’ve gotten for some of my clients, who I work with to implement these strategies…
- Jesse Cannone – Created a marketing campaign for him and sold his $77 product with a 5.92% conversion rate. And then went on to implement several other marketing strategies, boosting his profits for those products by 40% and 60%.
